What is a pros and cons list?
A pros and cons list places the benefits and drawbacks of one decision side by side. Writing both sides helps reveal tradeoffs, missing evidence, and assumptions before you act.
Think through the tradeoffs
A pros and cons list maker helps you weigh the benefits and drawbacks of one decision side by side. Write your reasons, optionally score their importance, and get a clear balance chart you can copy, print or save as an image.
Each written reason counts once. Turn on importance when some reasons matter more.

Phrase a specific yes-or-no question, such as whether to launch a small paid MVP this month.
Write the benefits and drawbacks. Use independent reasons and include the strongest argument against your preferred answer.
Optionally score importance from 1 to 5, compare the totals, and ask what evidence would change your mind.

Five small benefits do not necessarily outweigh one serious drawback. Importance scores are subjective, and overlapping reasons can double-count an effect. Separate facts from guesses, name any dealbreakers, and test your riskiest assumption before making an irreversible commitment. If you are choosing among several options, try the decision matrix instead.

With importance enabled, assign each reason a score from 1 (minor) to 5 (critical). Add the scores on each side. Without importance, each written reason counts once. Blank reasons are ignored.
No. The totals organize your thinking; they do not prove which choice is right. One unacceptable risk or a nonnegotiable value may outweigh several benefits. Check the evidence and challenge your preferred answer.
